When we brought the kids to Nebraska in January they were pretty nervous. They had never really seen snow (at least not that they remembered) and they didn’t want to leave their friends in California. Then they met some of the kids in the church, including the Rickertsen girls and they felt so much better about the possibility of moving. Then we got a tour of the Rickertsen farm and they were all ready to move and asked if we could live in the country and get some cows. By the end of the weekend, we knew we’d be moving to Nebraska in less than a month and all of my kids asked if they could just stay with the Rickertsens and Eddie and I could go back to California for our stuff! We have been so grateful for the Rickertsens and their welcoming friendship since moving here so getting to take their family portraits was a joy for me. We visited their cornfield and their pasture for their portraits and it made for the perfect backdrops!
