Ten years ago today, I was walking down an aisle on the arms of my brothers towards the man I would spend the rest of my life with. We had only known each other a year, which now looking back, seems crazy but I knew he was the one. What I didn’t know was what a wild ride we about to embark on. I had no idea that less than five months later we would be pregnant or that we’d soon be moving our little family all the way across the country. I didn’t know that we would have another bundle of joy so far from home and try to raise these two babies away from all of our family. I couldn’t have dreamed that we’d travel together to Congo and bring home an amazing baby girl to call our own. I didn’t know the friends we’d meet, the many homes we’d live in, the heights of the the highs we’d have, or the depths of the lows we’d face. But I did know that no matter what, Eddie would be by my side through it all and I would be by his. And today, ten years later, we are still there, side by side, supporting and loving each other through it all.
Thanks to my friend Chelsea of Bit of Ivory Photography for taking this photo of Eddie and I in the midst of the craziness of my best friend’s wedding.
