The kids went back to school today and that means summer is officially over. This summer did not go quite like I thought it would. The first month of summer Eddie took two intensive classes, which lived up to their name, then he spent a week at camp with the church kids. Then we had our first family vacation, then a week home, followed by our second vacation. We got home Saturday and started getting ready to start school. The summer kind of flew by and I’m not sure where it went! Here’s a little recap of what we did this summer.
Emma took an interest in plants this summer so we bought some succulents because they are usually hard to kill. Note: only one of these plants is still alive.
We took a ride on the carousel in Griffith Park, enjoyed a picnic, and refused to take a serious picture.Emma learned that cleaning is a lot more fun when you dance through it. We ate lots of watermelon. Lots. Our first vacation was spent at Capistrano Beach. We went with Eddie’s parents and most of my side of the family and spent the week together relaxing, laying by the pool, and hanging out at the beach. We spent on of the days at Mission San Juan Capistrano and Emma LOVED the guided tour.We got to spend a weekend at one of my favorite places on Earth, Forest Home. We visited the Science Center a few times. The favorite spot this last time was the aquarium. And finally, this last week we did our annual camping trip to Camp Pendleton. The kids got to finally meet their cousin Penny and were in heaven. Emma took an interest in photography on this trip and began learning what proper exposure is and how to get it. The next two images are all hers!
Hope you all had a great summer!
