John and Mary Rose were in the same law school class at the University of Nebraska College of Law. However, they didn’t get to know each other until they both moved to Kearney after graduation. They ran into each other at event for young lawyers and Mary Rose left the event pretty smitten. It took John a little while to pick up on the signals, but a few months later they connected again and after a few happy hours they finally had their first date.
John proposed during a trip to Chicago for St. Patrick’s Day weekend. The were there with some of Mary Rose’s family and on a bridge in the middle of downtown Chicago, John got down on one and asked her to marry him with a GORGEOUS sapphire ring that belonged to his grandmother. Once the shock wore off, Mary Rose said YES!!!
Their wedding day was one of the calmest I’ve been a part of and the thing that most evident was how happy John and Mary Rose were to be getting married. It was a day filled with love and fun and I am so happy I was able to capture it!
