This weekend is birthday parties galore in the Mariel house. Noah and Layla have birthdays three days apart so October is always crazy with birthday party planning. This year while planning Layla’s party, she and I talked a lot about wether she wanted her friends to bring her presents or if she wanted them to give presents to someone who might need them more. It was a hard decision for her (because what almost five year old doesn’t want a mountain of presents on her birthday) but after looking at some different charity options she found one she was excited about; charity: water. She was intrigued by the idea of helping provide clean water to people, but when we looked on their map and saw that they do work in Congo, she was sold! She decided she wanted to raise $500 for her birthday for charity: water.
