Last weekend I had the opportunity that is rare for a mother of three. I got to spend four days straight with my middle child. My BFF graduated with his masters in divinity and social work and when I discovered it was going to happen on Emma’s birthday weekend, I decided to make it a mother/daughter trip for Em’s birthday present. We had an amazing time and Emma was the life of the party everywhere we went. She proudly announced to everyone she met that Saturday was her birthday and she was six. After Matt’s graduation party, she was headed to bed and went into the living room and said, “Thanks everyone for coming to my party!” Yep, that’s my daughter!
