Earlier this week I had the pleasure of working with the Flores family. I could not be more thrilled with all the adoption sessions I’ve done lately! The Flores family adopted Z from China and they just brought her home at the beginning of this year. Here’s a little bit of their story: We decided to grow our family through adoption. After much consideration we decided to adopt our daughter from China. We found an amazing agency, CCAI, and in 2013 and we officially started the adoption process. We waited and waited and filled out lots and lots of paperwork and on November 4, 2015 at 1:59pm my phone rang with our daughters referral. I will never forget that day. That is the day we saw our daughter! I called my husband and he quickly came over and we saw the picture of the most beautiful little girl, our daughter! We said yes and her file was locked. After a little more paperwork we were on a plane for China on January 13, 2016. We were able to tour Beijing and see the beautiful country and culture where our sweet girl was born. On the 17th we arrived in the city where our daughter is from and spent our last night as a family of 2. I will never forget walking in to the hotel room and seeing the crib there next to the bed. It was an amazing feeling. This was really happening!! The next day Zoey was placed in our arms. After a little more paperwork and traveling to two other cities we finally flew home on the 30th we arrived at LAX as a family of three. After all the waiting and paperwork we wouldn’t change any of it. Our daughter is perfect and is the daughter we were always meant to have.
I met up with the Flores family at Griffith Park Observatory and wandered around checking out all the stairs (Zoey’s favorite!) and seeing the views of Los Angeles. Here are some of my favorites from our time together.
