One of the best parts about youth ministry is that as we pour into the lives of our students and build relationships with them, at some point they go from being our students to being our friends. Emi was one of the first students we met when we moved here and I instantly loved her. Over the years she has become one of my closest friends and I am so excited that she and Sean are getting married! I can’t imagine anyone being more right for Emi. They have the perfect combination of romance and fun in their relationship. Emi and Sean, I am so stinkin’ excited for your wedding. Thank you for your friendship and for allowing me to capture your love and laughter.
We started their engagement session at Circa 1918 Kitchen & Bar, which is one of Emi and Sean’s favorite restaurants in Newport News. A big thank you to them for allowing us to come in before they opened and get some amazing shots.
After we left Circa, we headed over to Christopher Newport University, the place where they met and fell in love.

Emi is an opera singer and she spent a lot of time at The Ferguson so we made sure to make a stop there for some photos. I asked them to dance and as they did, Emi started singing the song they will be dancing their first dance to at their wedding. So beautifully romantic:)
