I am making an exciting new change to Sarah Mariel Photography! I am now doing family portraits on a regular basis! I have done family portraits a few times over the past few years, but usually only in special cases. With all the changes that have taken place in my life the past six months, it only seems natural that the business make some changes too. Besides the the huge location change, of course! One day I started looking around and realized that my world is no longer filled high schoolers and college kids. I’m now surrounded by families! With the kids all in school and living in the seminary community I realized I don’t want to exclude that part of my life from my business. Now, just so we’re clear, I’m not giving up seniors and weddings. I’m just adding families to the bunch! Today, you get to meet my first family after making the official change.
The best part of living in campus housing here at Fuller is the built in community it brings. I was a little nervous before we moved because we were going to be trying to fit a family of five in a teeny tiny apartment. But it turned out to be fine because my kids are rarely in the house! There are so many other kids here that my kiddos are constantly playing outside and running around the complex with their friends. So when it came time to start looking for some guinea pigs for this new venture, I didn’t have to look far! The first set of guinea pigs family to graciously stand in front of my lens is the Drez family. We met them the first day we moved in. Their daughter was having her birthday party that day and when they met us they immediately invited our kids to her party. That was when I knew we were going to love it here. So enough of my yapping and enjoy some of my favorites from this beautiful family’s session!
We did the Drez family’s session at Plaza Las Fuentes here in Pasadena. I love love love the fun tile walls there and I can totally understand why it’s a favorite of the Drez’s.
