The first week of a new school year is coming to an end. Noah started 3rd grade, Emma started 2nd grade, and Layla started transitional kindergarten. For the first time they are all in the same school, on the same schedule. It’s something I’ve looked forward to for years, but now that it’s here I’m realizing I liked the IDEA of it more than the actual practice of it. We are officially completely out of the toddler stage and into the school-age stage with our kids. That’s a good thing, but this week I’m taking a little time to mourn the stage we’ve left.
Some things I’m looking forward to having all the kids in school all day:
-A quiet house
-A cleaner house
-More time to invest in the business
-Day dates with the hubby
Some things I’m not looking forward to:
-A quiet house (it’s nice for only so long!)
-Missing out on “I love you” hugs from Layla throughout the day
-Help with cleaning the house!
And I asked the kids what were some of the highlights from the first week of school and here’s what they said:
Noah- I was the first to progress to “had a good day” (an affirmation from his teacher)
Emma- Meeting LOTS of new friends, having the same teacher that Noah did last year, and having Layla at school with us.
Layla- Played with play dough, did the alphabet worm puzzle, seeing people I know at lunch, and my teacher is not a zombie.
Nini came with us to take the kiddos to their first day!
