Emma turns 10!

the blog:

I don’t know what it is about reaching that double digit milestone, but it gets kids super excited and it makes parents feel super old. I now have two children who have reached a decade in age and I have no idea where my babies have gone. Today we celebrate Emma’s birthday. Ten years this crazy ball of fire has been in our lives and we are all the better for it. I have always called her my little fairy because she has always fit perfectly the description that J.M. Barrie has for fairies in Peter Pan “Tink was not all bad: or, rather, she was all bad just now, but, on the other hand, sometimes she was all good. Fairies have to be one thing or the other, because being so small they unfortunately have room for one feeling only at a time. They are, however, allowed to change, only it must be a complete change.” That’s my girl. One moment she can be the sweetest, most caring child you’ve ever met, the next, you’d better watch out and pray for that complete change to come quickly. She’s strong, independent, and responsible. She changes her hair color almost as often as she changes her moods.  She is just as comfortable in her leotard and perfect ballet bun as she is running around barefoot with her wild hair flowing behind her. Life with her can be a little crazy sometimes but I wouldn’t change her for anything. Happy 10th birthday Emma!!
